What Webanas is

Webanas is a directory of AI tools: web apps, desktop software and self-hosted projects. Each tool gets one listing with the same fields: pricing plans with the date they were checked, free plan limits, trial terms, platforms, API access, integrations, data policy, compliance, support channels, pros and cons, and an editor score when we have tested the product.

Directories usually list thousands of tools with a paragraph each. We list fewer tools and document each one in depth, then build category, use-case, alternatives and comparison pages from that data rather than writing them by hand.

How listings are made

Listings come from two sources, and both follow the same record. Our editors write most of them, starting from the vendor's pricing page and documentation. Vendors can also submit their own tool; an editor reviews the submission, may request changes, and publishes it. Editorial fields such as scores, pros, cons and the verdict are always written by us, never by the vendor.

A listing shows two dates: when its pricing was last checked and when an editor last reviewed it. Prices come from the vendor's own pricing page and are re-checked when a change is announced.

How tools are scored

A score out of 10 combines five criteria with fixed weights: features (30%), ease of use (20%), value (25%), performance (15%) and support (10%). Only tools we have used or documented in depth get a score; the others rank by how complete their listing is. Nobody can pay for a score or a position.

Who reviews the AI tools

Three people write the listings, and each one owns the categories they use in their own work. Between them they pay for about forty AI subscriptions, which is where most of the pricing, quota and limit details come from. Every listing names the editor who reviewed it, next to the date.

Editorial independence and affiliate policy

Rankings are never for sale. A vendor cannot buy a position, a score or a placement, and the editorial fields stay with our editors. Outbound links currently carry a plain referral tag so vendors can see traffic coming from webanas.com. We may add affiliate links to some of those outbound links later. If we do, they will be disclosed on this page and the ranking rules will not move: scores first, then verified listings, then how complete a listing is.
